This golf enthusiast has been addicted to golf since I was 8 years old, that's 40 years to you and me. Always trying to get the best deal on forged golf irons before they are all gone. Classic forged irons are really what get me excited about hitting golf balls the way they were intended to be hit. That goes for classic putters and classic persimmon woods too. Golf is far too expensive and it doesn't have to be. Golf can be participated in for far less money than what you think. Golf equipment, golf balls at the range, golf outings at the local muni, outings at upper echelon golf courses, and maybe attending the infrequent PGA Tour tournament.

TKG Ep 102 A Grand Night Out at Sacramento National

Hello again Fellow Golfists,
Well it was rare for me to actually have fun at Sacramento National on a night that had a gorgeous sunset, gorgeous moon, and a gentle breeze that kept things relatively cool on a Friday night in middle to late October 2023. On this night I shared the time between hitting mostly fully dimpled Srixon Marathon Range balls with my Wilson Staff Goosenecks, new to me Ping Tisi driver and new to me Callaway S2H2 12 degree lofted driver and meeting some local golf club enthusiasts who let me try out a couple of their clubs. I got to try a Ben Hogan Apex PC 6 iron and a Ben Hogan Director 6 iron both with the #4 shaft. I have never had such a positive experience where actual golf enthusiasts actually wanted to chat about golf equipment. It was almost like being at a Cars and Coffee event. I also got to made a video for The Knackered Golfist YouTube channel and it was really fascinating to see how the footage turned out.
This is basically a 2 part episode. Part 1 being the drive I had sharing golf news of the week driving to Sacramento National (2023 ZOZO Championship from Japan and the TalkinGolf Podcast Rise and Demise of the Ben Hogan Golf Company Complete Series) and Part 2 was me reflecting on a surprising grand night out at Sacramento National meeting some great golf club enthusiasts!
